Ilene Gayle Hoge, 83 of Stockton, Calif., passed away in a local hospital on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006. She was born Oct. 10, 1922, in Jericho Springs, Mo. After marring D.J. Hoge they moved to Montana and on to Stockton in 1966.

Gayle worked outside the home as a bookkeeper as a young woman, reared her family and returned to bookkeeping when her children were grown. She worked for San Joaquin General hospital for a brief time.

She is survived by three children, Debra L. Gritz, Connie Donough and Jerry D. Hoge all of Stockton; six grandchildren: Ryan, Nathan, Amy, Jennifer, David and Emily; one great-grandchild, Samantha; and one sister, Patricia Hargrove of Nevada.

Private graveside services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m., at Cherokee Memorial Park.
