Uniontown routs Oswego

OSWEGO, Kan. -- Uniontown rolled up 419 rushing yards in a 45-0 rout of Oswego in Three Rivers Play Friday night. The win put the Eagles in a tie with Pleasanton atop the Three Rivers League-Upper Division standings with those two teams scheduled to meet next week.

Gage McKinnis scored four touchdowns on his 12 carries as he gained 138 yards. He had Uniontown's first two scores on runs of two and 36 yards.

Quarterback Chad Hays scampered 75 yards on another touchdown run later in the first period. McKinnis capped first-quarter scoring with a 20-yard run. That made it 26-0.

Shawn Pritchett scored on a one-yard run and McKinnis went in from one yard out to make it 39-0 at the half. Zack Mason's 42-yard run in the third quarter capped the scoring.

Hays ran for 95 yards on just two carries for the Eagles, 2-0 in the league and 5-1 overall. Pritchett had 78 yards on 11 rushes and Mason finished with 57 yards on four carries.

Mason, Jamie Shelton and Heath Clayton each had eight tackles on defense.

Uniontown finished the night with 435 total yards, 15 first downs and no turnovers. Oswego had 43 total yards -- 10 yards on 28 rushes -- two first downs and three turnovers.

Oswego fell to 0-3, 1-5.

Uniontown and Pleasanton will meet at Uniontown's stadium Friday night. This game not only determines the TRL champion but also opens Kansas district play.
