Davis 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph N. Davis will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 16, 2006. "Joe," the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip S. Davis of Harrisonville, Mo., and the former Carol Lee Diehr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene A. Diehr, of Nevada, Mo., were married Nov. 16, 1956, in the First Baptist Church of Nevada, with the Rev. Roy S. Dinkins officiating. The couple made their first home in Kansas City, Mo.

"Joe" attended Central Missouri State College at Warrensburg and was employed by Butler Manufacturing Company for 44 years, retiring in 2000 as an international traffic manager. Carol, a homemaker, loves to decorate and teach crafts.

The couple have two children, son Todd Davis, and daughter Jill and husband Verne K. Covell III, of Nevada; one granddaughter, Sarah Grace Davis, and one stepgrandson, Weston Covell.

After "Joe's" retirement, the couple moved to Pagosa Springs, Colo., where they are making their home.
