Deadline nears for county Resource Share luncheon

The reservation deadline is fast approaching for the second annual Vernon County Resource Share luncheon. The deadline to RSVP is at noon, Monday, Nov. 13, for the Thursday, Nov. 16, luncheon at the Eagles Lodge in Nevada. The registration deadline has been extended from this Friday until next Monday because of the Veterans Day holiday.

The once-a-year, comprehensive networking event helps all the entities working in Vernon County more effectively serve the county's needs. Every service provider, be it an agency or individual, is encouraged to attend the luncheon, which is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.

The organizing committee asks any provider who has not received an invitation to contact Susan Thompson at Vocational Rehabilitation at (417) 448-1332 so that an invitation can be sent. Each agency should bring as many representatives as possible. Each agency will have about two minutes to share basic service and contact information.

Attendees are also asked to bring brochures, flyers, or other handouts. Information tables will be set up for the resource materials so that other agencies can pick up the handouts.

The luncheon invitation includes a brief form requesting information specific to the provider. That information will again be formatted into a comprehensive Vernon County Resource Guide that will be provided to each person attending the midday program.
