Among the items up for discussion during a meeting of the Nevada City Council, slated for 7 tonight, is the creation of an animal control board.

This proposed five-member board would be composed of members appointed by the mayor, serving three-year terms. The board is conceived, according to city documents, as an advisory board and would give regular quarterly reports to the city as to activity and conditions present at the animal shelter.

Ordinances relating to the infrastructure board, the airport board, contract issues relating to a public works contract for construction of a shelter house at Marmaduke Park, changes in the city's water rates and policies, and changes to an employment contract with interim city manager Harlan Moore are also on tonight's agenda.
