Lois Mae Boyd, age 84, of Nevada died peacefully at her home in Nevada on Friday, Dec. 1, 2006. She was born on Oct. 24, 1922, in Nevada to Lewis Robert Bryan and Ida Mae Darrow Bryan. On Aug. 31, 1939, she was married in Rich Hill, Mo., to Murl W. Boyd and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1995.

Lois attended Nevada schools and worked at the Nevada State Hospital as a dental assistant for 29 years until her retirement in 1985. Lois enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Twilight Bowling League in Nevada and was a past Boy Scout leader. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Nevada.

Survivors include four children, Barbara R. Moore of Nevada, Sharon Maxine Sutcliffe of Joplin, Randy T. Boyd and his wife Mickie of Nevada, and Ricky Bryan Boyd of Nevada; 18 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Lee Bryan of Nevada.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 4, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. A private committal will follow at a later date.
