Bertie Louise Goodman, 86, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at Barone Alzheimer's Care Center in Nevada, Mo., following a lengthy illness. She was born Sept. 22, 1920, in Nevada, to Hugh Spencer and Carrie Ellen Arnot Spencer. She was married in 1938 to Raymond Wilson and he died in 1974. She later married Rex Goodman on Nov. 22, 1986, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.
Mrs. Goodman was a homemaker and a farm wife all her working life, and a life long resident of Vernon County. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Nevada.
In addition to her husband Rex, she is survived by two daughters, Linda Edwards, Lawson, Mo., and Lois Davis, Morrisville, Mo.; one son, Larry Wilson, Nevada; five stepchildren, James Goodman and wife Sharon, Schell City, Mo., Betty Fern Miles, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Robert Allen Goodman and wife Valerie, Kearney, Mo., Rebecca LeAnne Bogle and husband Keith, Nevada, and Patrick Shawn Goodman and wife Bobbi, Baxter Springs, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Tim Parrack, Anita Sellars, Jeff Edwards, Larry Wilson, Lyle Wilson, Lori Harter and Lesia McVay along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Gowin, the state of California. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Melvin Mabra officiating. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Schell City. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
The family suggests that memorials, in her memory, may be made to the Barone Alzheimer's Care Center, Nevada, in care of the funeral home.
