Elnora Lyon, age 74, of Grandview, Mo., and formerly of Nevada, died on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo. She was born July 11, 1932, in Schell City, Mo. to Dean J. Maus and Edna Mae Schrum Maus. On Oct. 14, 1951, she was married to Vernon Lyon and he preceded her in death in 1969.

Elnora graduated from Metz, Mo. High School. Following their marriage she and Vernon moved to the Kansas City, Mo., area where she has lived since that time.

Survivors include five children, Geraldine Kaye O'Dell and her husband Ed of Lamont, Mo., Claydean Lyon of Overland Park, Kan., Robert Bruce Lyon and his wife Regina of Grandview, and Diana Lynne Schultz and her husband Dean of Olathe, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. In addition to her husband Vernon, she was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Jeanette Claypool.

Graveside services will be held at 11 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 4, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now until 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
