Efforts of the Spring City Revitalization Group continue to forge ahead.

According to a press release from the group, February is "I Love El Dorado Springs Month."

To mark the occasion, SCRG has announced the second annual "I Love El Dorado Springs" community dinner, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17,at the Civic Center in downtown El Dorado Springs. The event begins at 6:30 p.m., and promoters say this will be "a perfect opportunity to find out what's taking place in downtown El Dorado Springs."

The dinner is free to the public and there will also be entertainment and news from the architects.

"Mark your calendar to join us for a fun filled evening," said Rachel Parker-Healy, in a press release.

The architects from Jack Ball & Associates from Ozark, Mo., attended an SCRG meeting held last Wednesday. They gave a visual presentation reflecting the possibilities of how adding the new crosswalks and lighting would enhance downtown El Dorado Springs.

The meeting was very productive as it gives SCRG new information regarding the many variables to adding such amenities, Parker-Healy said.

"We are looking forward to working with them closely as we progress," said Parker-Healy.

SCRG and The Preserve Our Past Society still have copies of the new 2007 El Dorado Springs "Wonder City" Calendar available.

To obtain a copy of this year's souvenir calendar, call (417) 296-1361.

SCRG meets every Wednesday morning at 8:30, at 121 W. Spring St., in El Dorado Springs.

Comments, suggestions and ideas from the public are encouraged. For inquiries or information about the revitalization process, please contact the SCRG at 121 West Spring Street, Suite 3, El Dorado Springs, MO 64744.
