The Nevada Youth Wrestling Club was in Lee's Summit and Ray-Pec on consecutive weekends recently.

The wrestlers went to Lee's Summit West on Jan. 20, with 12 competing. Three came home with medals, as Skyler Scotten, Channing Nielson and Colby Smith each placed third in their classes.

Peyton Denney, C.J. Otter, Zane Shepherd, Daxtyn Osburn, Regar Hardin, Zach Shepherd, Bradey Denney and Spencer Scotten also competed at Lee's Summit West.

On Jan. 27, 14 participated in a tournament at Ray-Pec. Six medaled. Sam Ellifrits and Slade Stiles won their classes, Lucas Denman was second, Colby Smith placed third and Regar Hardin and Tanner Charles were fourth.

Peyton Denney, Zane Shepherd, Daxtyn Osburn, Dylan Hyder, Chance Mays, True Beisly, Zach Shepherd and Bradey Denney also competed.

On Jan. 28, there was a novice tournament in Adrian. Thirteen Nevada wrestlers competed and all placed.

Bradey Denney, Spencer Scotten and Josh McDowell each won their class. Reed Hardin, Cole Cooper, Van Celaya and Ethan Henderson took second. Dylan Hyder, Brennon Pryor, Peyton Denney and Clay Landoll placed third. Cole Ellis placed fourth and Colton McDowell took fifth.

The next tournament is this weekend in Webb City.
