Reigning over Valentine's Day

Thursday, February 15, 2007
Carla Witte, beautician, crowns Christian Health Care's Valentine's Day King Louis Osborn and Queen Wilma Carroll. The two were selected by votes cast by residents, staff and visitors from among six candidates. Other candidates were Frieda and Ben Scmidt, Luellla Rutledge, Omer Whitworth and Ben Schmidt. The king and queen were crowned during a brief ceremony at the center on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Feb. 8, staff of Christian Health Care Center, 700 E. Highland, in Nevada, bid for the chance to throw a pie in the face of another worker, in a fund-raiser to support Valentine's Day festivities at the center, which included lunch for residents from McDonald's, purchased with the money from the pie-throwing event.
