NEVADA, Mo. -- Nevada High School senior Erica Klinksick signed a letter of intent Thursday to play softball at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa.
Klinksick, a two-time all-district selection with the Lady Tigers, has played varsity since she was a freshman.
Klinksick hit .288 last season with 26 stolen bases, six doubles and a triple. The outfielder/utility player also played for the 16-and-under Arkansas Heartbreakers that won a USSSA national title, and is currently playing with the 18-and-under Harrisonville Twisters.
Klinksick also played basketball, is a member of the Skills USA , National Honor Society ad the Soundsational Singers Show Choir.
The daughter of Shanna Johnson and Heath Klinksick, Erica will be taking General Studies in Estherville.
The Iowa Lakes program went 57-8 last season and is currently 21-10 this year, ranked ninth nationally in the NJCAA Division II.
"I think Erica is a great fit for our program and is the type of player to continue with our level of success," Iowa Lakes head coach Mike Bosch said.
