Mad dog runs amuck

On Tuesday morning a dog that acted very much like he was mad, made his appearance in the north part of town, where he made things lively for a while. He commenced operations by tackling a black and white dog, west of the track then crossing the track, he gave battle to C.C. Russel's two dogs, inflicting wounds on at least on of them. Mrs. Russell, who rushed out with a broom to separate the combatants had a narrow escape from being bitten, says the Richards Progress.

Investigate break-in at Schell City store

The sheriff's office this morning investigated a break-in at Gray's Store in Schell City and Sheriff Les Hunt said the thieves had forced the front door and blew the door of the large safe and made of with $118. They also took $4.20 from the cash register.

Jack Gray, store owner, reported the break-in when he came to work this morning. An explosive was used on the safe door and $63 was taken in currency and $55 in silver. Nothing else was disturbed.
