Phillip Andrew McConnaughey, 46, Stotesbury, Mo., passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2007, in Richards, Mo. He was born June 14, 1960, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Arthur Lee McConnaughey and Dorothy Mae Blake McConnaughey.
Phillip lived his whole life in the Richards and Stotesbury areas. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1978. Phillip was a loyal hired hand for Bill and Ruby Keith for many years and also worked in the oil field in the Richards area. He was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include one son, Justin McConnaughey, Stotesbury, Mo.; two daughters, Kristle McConnaughey, Columbia, Mo., and Misty Benton, Springfield, Mo., four grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy McConnaughey, of the home; one brother, James McConnaughey, Nevada; five sisters, Dorothy Brooks, Hume, Mo., Dixie Stuart, Neosho, Mo., Nancy Mashek, Rhonda Pruitt, and Linda Brooks, all of Richards; one sister-in-law, Saundra McConnaughey, Stotesbury; numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, David McConnaughey; and one nephew, John McConnaughey.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 26, at East Liberty Cemetery, Stotesbury, with Bryan Keith officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 7-8 p.m., today, April 25, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
