"Back, when we return, Tyra Banks on the View on ABC," was the quote that gave local Christy Ogle her 10 seconds of fame on the ABC hit show, "The View," filmed in New York City. Christy was a member of the audience on the April 26 episode of the show. She sat front row, directly behind the camera man. "Since I was sitting by the camera man, it looked like Rosie was talking to me the entire time," Ogle said. Ogle was visiting her brother, Robbie Kinney, a student at New York University, and took the opportunity to sit in on the show while she was there.

Rosie O'Donnell gets touchups on her makeup and hair during a break in filming of "The View," attended by Walker resident Christy Ogle and some of her family and friends, during a recent trip Ogle made to New York City. Ogle says she's a big fan of O'Donnell's, and that O'Donnell had inspired her to adopt. Ogle and her husband, Max, have three children, one of whom is adopted.

"It was a really amazing trip. Rosie O'Donnell walked in, at the first of the show, and I was enamored by her. She is a hilarious person, and I have always wanted to meet her since she had her own show. I told my brother to pinch me, I couldn't believe I was actually there. I really don't remember the first 14 minutes, but thank goodness for TIVO, so I could re-live it and remember the second time around. Carrie Ann Inaba was the guest host that day, along with Joy Bahare and Elizabeth Hasselback. Carrie Ann is the female judge from 'Dancing with the Stars.' She is absolutely gorgeous."

The girls chatted about Heather Mills getting kicked off "Dancing with the Stars," George Bush's terrible dance moves and Rosie's leaving "The View."

"The studio was a lot smaller than it looks on T.V. During the commercial breaks, Rosie came out to the audience and answered questions. Like was she really leaving the view, yes, but she will come back as a guest co-host once a month and tackle topics like foster care, autism and depression. She was also asked about her feud with the Donald. She commented that he is just dragging it on for publicity."

Rosie was also asked questions about depression, etc., Ogle noted.

"I did the mid-morning break with Elizabeth Hasselback, she said, 'This is Christy from Missouri,' and then I gave my few seconds worth of comments," said Ogle.

"I then chatted with Elizabeth a bit, and went down the stairs and Rosie was there. She said I did a great job and had the entire audience cheer for me. She also said, 'I have the same sweater,' that was kinda cool. I then said, 'I love you' and she then gave me a hug and said, 'You are beautiful.' I said 'thanks' and went back to my seat," Ogle said.

"I asked her during the next commercial break if all four of her children were from foster care and she said no, that two were from foster care. She stood about six inches from me answering my question. It was just like a dream. My brother then went on to tell Rosie how she had inspired me to adopt. WOW! That's all I can say about it," Ogle added.

"Tyra Banks was one of the guests and she talked about her show. She was pretty happy and a bit out of control," Ogle laughed. "Mark Summers was there from the Food Network and he hosts the show 'Unwrapped,' which is awesome. He told of how Twizzlers and Blow Pops were made. He was really neat. We received a bunch of Twizzlers, Blow Pops, Rocky Roads, wax lips and wax drinks for free that day. We also all got an IPOD Nano for free with chocolate and the DVD 'The Queen.' It was awesome!"

Afterwards, the group did a little sightseeing in the Big Apple.

"We spent an entire day in Central Park, doing some boating. It is the most amazing park I have ever been to. There is nothing quite like it on earth. I loved it and so did my mom. We also saw the Naked Cowboy in Times Square. He was a little scary. We tried a different place to eat every day. The food in NYC is amazing," Ogle said, obviously still very excited about her recent trip.

Ogle has made it very evident that she is a serious fan of O'Donnell. She lives near Walker, Mo., and is married to Max. They have three children, one of whom is adopted. Ogle claims that O'Donnell was a majority inspiration to her during the adoption process. The Ogle family has been around the area for many years and is planning a big move to Texas in the next month or so.
