To pay three school bonds

The Nevada School Board met Tuesday evening in call session. The vote was cast at Tuesday's election was canvassed.

The board accepted the invitation of Mrs. V.A.C. Stockard to hold the high school graduating exercises at the Cottey College auditorium on the evening of Wednesday, May 22.

Country School Supervisor W.Y. Foster was granted permission to use the Franklin school building for the summer school for teachers.

Bargains and fun in Nevada

Forty-seven area merchants have subscribed for "$ellebrity Sale Day" auction dollars according to Karl Hoffman, chairman of promotion committee of the Retail Merchants Committee of the Commerce. In addition, Hoffman said, we have a long list of valuable prizes which will be sold for auction dollars during the Monday, May 13, festivities.

Smiley Burnette, cowboy comic and idol of millions of kids across the nation, will be the featured entertainer in the day's fun-packed stage shows, gigantic sports parade and the auction.
