More events canceled, postponed

The rainy, wet weather continues to pose problems to Nevada High School sports teams, as more events were effected Tuesday.
The Tiger baseball team had to postpone Tuesday's Southwest Conference game with McDonald County because of a heavily saturated field from all the recent rain.
The game is tentatively scheduled as part of a varsity doubleheader Thursday, which will see Nevada host Carthage and McDonald County.
Meanwhile, Wednesday's makeup game with Neosho, which was suspended during the fourth inning of play on April 26 because of a tornado warning, was in doubt with further rains pummeling the area this morning.
The Tigers already lost a pair of games last week against Harrisonville and El Dorado Springs because of rain. Neither contest will be made up.
The baseball team isn't the only NHS squad effected either.
Tiger tennis was supposed to host Webb City in the final match of the regular season -- also doubling as Senior Night -- but the match was outright canceled. The match will not be made up.
The two teams were scheduled to participate in the continuation of the conference tournament today in Webb City, weather permitting.
The conference tournament actually was held on May 1, but play was suspended by rain before doubles had a chance to play.
