Willis William "Bill" Hill, 92, of Fort Scott, passed away Friday morning, May 11, 2007, at the Mercy Health Center. He was born Nov. 25, 1914, the son of William "Will" and Mattie (Karnes) Hill.

Bill served in the United States Army, and was an auto mechanic, owning and operating his own business.

He is survived by his wife Grace Pottorff Hill, of the home; three sons, Gary Hill, Jack Weemes, and Clyde Weemes; a daughter, Mary Davis; a sister, Donna Riggs; six stepchildren, Larry Coombs, Gary Coombs, Sue Reasoner, Paul Hawkins, Hugh Hawkins and Mike Hawkins; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Hill; a daughter, Dixie Drake; two brothers, Ellis Hill, and Omer Hill; three sisters, Sylvia, Goldie, and Allie; a step-son, Jerry Coombs; and a step-daughter, Carol Hull.

Pastor Scott Moore will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday, May 14, from 7-8 p.m. Burial will be at the Fort Scott National Cemetery at a later date, following cremation.
