Conners - 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Conner, Nevada, Mo., will observe their 50th wedding anniversary June 1, 2007. The Conners were married in 1957 at the Pine Street Baptist Church in Nevada and have lived in the present area since 1960, having previously lived in Wichita, Kan., and Sheldon, Mo.

Bob, semi-retired from bridge construction for Vernon County, enjoys fishing and working in the yard. Ila, a homemaker and baby-sitter, enjoys walking and spending time with the grandchildren.

Their children -- Rod and Tammy Conner, of Kannapolis, N.C., and Diane and Jerry Gilmore, Rick Conner, Deb and Jeff Kimbrough, Ronnie and Emma Conner, Robby Conner and Roger Conner, all of Nevada -- will be present at a reception to honor the couple on June 9, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Nevada Community Center, 200 N. Ash. The occasion is open to all family and friends.
