Zella Jane "Janie" Dickey

Zella Jane "Janie" Dickey, 66, Nevada, Mo., passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at her son's home in Moundville, Mo. She was born Jan. 29, 1941, in Kansas City, Mo., to Henry Ross Crowe and Edna Pearl Smith Crowe. She married Daniel D. "Blue" Dickey on Oct. 25, 1959, in Arcadia, Kan.

Janie grew up in Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1959. She worked in medical records at Nevada Medical Clinic, Nevada State Hospital and Nevada Regional Medical Center where she retired as director of quality management in 2000. She later worked part time at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kan. Janie was a very active member of the First Christian Church and the bell choir. She was also a member of the BPW of Nevada.

Survivors include one son, Danny Ray Dickey and his wife, Donna, Moundville, Mo.; five grandchildren, Derrick Dickey, Jared Dickey and his wife, Amber, Afton Bugg and her husband Donnie, Sheena Dickey and Daniel Bley; four great-grandchildren, Keyton Dickey, Izac McDermott, Dallas Bugg and Jordyn Dickey; and two brothers, Mike Crowe, Joplin, Mo., and Joseph Crowe and his wife, Margie, in Jefferson City, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Tony Lee in 1974.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, July 3, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Bill Platt officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Committal will be in Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh, Mo.
