Richard Kesterson Potter

Richard Kesterson Potter, 85, passed away on Aug. 20th, 2007, in Sonoma, Cali., where he had resided for more than 30 years.

Richard graduated from University of Missouri with a degree in business and personnel management, interrupting his studies to serve as a field artillery captain in the U.S. Army in World War II. Richard and his wife Jean moved to her native California in 1952, where he was an industrial engineer with American Can Company for 33 years.

Richard was an avid steelhead fisherman, enjoying the Klamath River area of California with his father-in-law, the late Dr. Roswell D. Borley, and later with his children. Richard appreciated fine food and loved cooking a variety of gourmet meals for friends and family. We all loved his humor, kindness, and knew him to be a genuine gentleman, devoted husband and loving father. Richard is survived by his three children Diane Sheardown of San Carlos, Calif., Don Potter of Ramona, Calif., Ted Potter of San Rafael, Calif.; sisters-in-law Catherine Kensler of Los Altos, Calif., and Susanne Larson of Sunnyvale, Calif.; close family friends Roberto Maio of San Carlos, Kate Jones of San Francisco and Diane Young of Ramona, Calif.
