Phyllis Aleen Fleener, 71, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at Life Care Center of Grandview, Grandview, Mo. She was born Sept. 23, 1935 in Albert Lee, Minn., to Northrup P. Larson and Olive Irene Oyer Larson.
Phyllis moved to Missouri with her family at the age 10. She lived and grew up in Virgil City, Mo. Phyllis worked as a Developmental Aide at Nevada State Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1985. She also worked at Nevada Manor Nursing Home as part-time med-tech during that time. Phyllis was a member of the Christian Church, Liberal, Mo. She was active in 4-H for many years and also with the Mo-Kan Square Dancing Club for many years.
Survivors include six sons, Danny Fleener, Ashbury, Mo, Donny Fleener, Midland, N.C., Ronnie Fleener, Sheldon, Mo., Leroy Fleencr, Waynesville, Mo., Eddie Fleener, Virginia Beach, Va., and Phillip York, Nevada, Mo.; three daughters, Jannett Galster, Nevada, Mo., Betty Burdick, Bronaugh, Mo., and Delinda Rhync, Brownwood, Texas; 26 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Northrup Larson Jr., Centerview, Mo.; two sisters, Mariana Cotton, Nevada, Mo., and Della Parkinson, Harwood, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jim Larson.
Funeral services will he held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Aug. 29, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo. Interment will follow in Coale Hill Cemetery, east of El Dorado Springs, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday Aug. 28, 2007, at the funeral home.
