Hume beats Leeton 4-3 to open '07

LEETON -- Righthander Ryan Austin ushered in the fall baseball season in grand style on Thursday.

The junior from Hume High School struck out 14 batters in a 4-3 victory over Leeton on Thursday.

Sophomore Zack Austin drove in a pair of runs, and juniors Cody Franklin and Ryan Austin each drove in one apiece.

Ryan Austin, who went the distance in the victory, was in command from the start.

He allowed just four hits.
