The Lady Tigers' Heather Klingaman shot a 48-52--100 to finish in a tie for sixth place individually. Other NHS scores included Melea Galimberto (52-51--103); Nicole Campbell (55-49--104); and Chelsea Turner (68-68--136).
Springfield Kickapoo won the team title with a 320, followed by Nixa (388), Greenwood (408), Republic (420), Mt. Vernoon (431), Springfield Hillcrest (438), Bolivar (441), Nevada (443), Willard (445), Ozark (447), Marshfield (455), Seymour (468), Branson (523) and Buffalo (550).
Kickapoo's Lindsay Johnson was the medalist at 37-42 --79; followed by Mt. Vernon's Emily Tebow (41-43--84).
Higgins one-hits NHS
ANDERSON -- McDonald County pitcher Tara Higgins tossed a one-hitter, as Mac County blanked the Nevada Lady Tigers 10-0 in five innings Tuesday.
Shawna Alkire broke up Higgins' no-hit bid with a single. Higgins struck out eight and had no walks.
The 10-run rule went into effect after five inings.
The Lady Tigers play at El Dorado Springs on Thursday, and then travel to the Clinton Tournament on Saturday.
NHS falls to Carthage
CARTHAGE -- After winning the first game of the three-game volleyball match Tuesday in a head-to-head battle with host Carthage, 25-20, the Nevada Lady Tigers were defeated 25-17 and 25-14 and lost the match.
In the junior varsity match, Carthage defeated Nevada, 25-17 and 26-24.
In the freshman match, NHS lost 25-8 and 25-14.
