Lady Tigers take care of Mac County

Wednesday, September 12, 2007

The Nevada High School volleyball teams trekked down south to McDonald County on Tuesday and came away with victories in varsity and freshman action.

The junior varsity lost to McDonald County, 17-25, 25-19 and 25-21.

The NHS freshman team won, 25-15, 25-18.

In the varsity match, the Lady Tigers breezed to a 25-14 win in the first game before squeezing out a 26-24 triumph in the second game to win the match.

"We came out really strong," NHS head volleyball coach Trudy Fleeman said. "We knew that we needed a win there because they are a good team.

"We came out and did things right. We played well, served well and passed well. I think we came out more aggressive. We felt like we had to come out strong from the get-go."
