Varsity, JV Lady Tigers split home opener

The Nevada varsity and Junior varsity split their home openers with the Neosho Lady Wildcats Thursday night at Wynn Gymnasium.

The varsity team lost the first game 16-25 and a closely contested second game 24-26.

It took the JV three games to defeat the Wildcats 2-1. The Nevada junior varsity lost the first game to Neosho 20-25 and came back to win two straight contests 25-17 and 25-15.

The Nevada JV will travel to Harrisonville for the Harrisonville JV Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The Tigers will be at home Monday, hosting Pleasant Hill for three matches.

The freshman match is scheduled to start at 5 p.m., followed by the junior varsity and the varsity.
