From 5-8 p.m. in the basement of the Nevada Elks Lodge, there will be a reception for Pvt. Daniel A. Meisenheimer. This reception will be in recognition of his graduation from basic training and advance infantry training in the United States Army.

Meisenheimer has been stationed at Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia, undergoing instruction in the procedures of the United States Infantry. The young men that enter the 14 weeks of intense Infantry training undergo a radical transformation. They enter as civilians and with much leadership, guidance and challenge, they leave as physically and mentally fit Infantrymen ready to accomplish the mission of the Army.

Meisenheimer is the son of Dr. Jason and Heather Meisenheimer, and big brother of Shayna and Alyssa Meisenheimer of Nevada, Mo. He is the grandson of Don and Pat Meisenheimer, Nevada, and Bob and Glenda Miller, Fort Scott, Kan. All friends and family are welcome to stop by and join in this reception to congratulate Meisenheimer on his accomplishments.
