Lady Tiger volleyball clashes with Carthage

The Nevada Lady Tiger volleyball teams faced off against Carthage Tuesday night, with the junior varsity team netting a win and the freshman and varsity teams falling to the Carthage Tigers.

The freshman team lost the match in two games, 15-25, 21-25.

The junior varsity team turned the tables on Carthage, winning that match in two games, 25-7 and 25-21. The tables would turn again for the varsity team, who lost in two, 23-35 and 19-25.

The Lady Tigers will host Webb City, in the Wynn Gymnasium, at 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, and the Nevada JV tournament is slated to begin at 8 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6.

Seventh grade

In middle school play, the Nevada seventh grade volleyball A team added another victory to its record in the Tri-County tournament at Webb City on Tuesday, earning third place in the tournament after falling in the semifinals to Joplin Memorial, 12-25 and 17-25.

The third place victory came against Neosho in three games, 25-13, 24-26 and 25-12.

The season record for the A team is now at 15/4/1.

Nevada seventh grade A team members are: Tori Dahmer, Beth Dreyer, Paige Greer, Nicole Hadler, Regan Kannady, Brooke Munsterman, Christian Novak, Mackenzie Pritchett and Sharla Quick.
