NMS girls net sweeps

JOPLIN -- Paije Gibbs tossed in 11 points as Nevada Middle School's eighth grade A team hammered host Joplin North 42-9 Monday.

Cassidy Lowery had five points as Nevada B coasted to a 17-2 victory in a two-quarter contest. Each Nevada eighth-grade team has a 2-1 record.

Lauren Baker and Victoria Culbertson scored 14 points apiece to lead Nevada A over Joplin North seventh grade 46-7. Nicole Habler had 10 points as Nevada B recorded a 26-2 victory. Nevada's seventh-grade teams are each 3-0.

Nevada Middle School teams host Carthage today, with the A games starting at 5 p.m. and the B games around 6 p.m.

The eighth grade plays in Wynn Gymnasium at the high school while the seventh grade games are at the middle school.
