Rumors of tainted candy deaths unfounded, local officials say

Due to a rumor regarding a child or group of children becoming sick or dying from meth- or poison-laced candy in the Nevada area, the Daily Mail spoke with officials at the Vernon County Sheriff's Office and the Nevada Police Department. Law enforcement officials report having received several inquiries from curious persons who were concerned about the rumors; but according to both departments there have been no actual reports of any children becoming sick or dying from tainted candy in the city or county.
