Nevada High School had six players named to the 2007 All-Southwest Conference football team.

The Tigers' defense was well represented with senior linebacker Ryan Herda named co-Defensive Player of the Year. Herda made an incredible 189 tackles, including 77 solo.

Senior linebacker Jake Anderson and senior defensive back Aaron Dade were each named to the second team. Anderson made 75 tackles on the season.

Senior Jerrod Alexander was named first-team All-SWC offensive line. Alexander also made honorable mention on the defensive line. Herda was named second-team All-SWC on the offensive line.

Junior Colby Shepherd earned first-team all-conference as a kick returner. He averaged 31.2 yards per kickoff return, including a 95-yard TD return against McDonald County, and 12.7 yards per punt return. Shepherd, who hauled in a team-leading 375 yards in receptions, also made the second team as a receiver.

Sophomore quarterback Austin Baldwin received honorable mention All-SWC offense.

In a previous Nevada Daily Mail story, it was incorrectly stated that senior defensive back Aaron Dade was honorable mention All-SWC. Dade was in fact selected to the second team.
