Nevada Middle School wrestling season begins

Bennett picked up a pair of victories on the night for the Tigers.

Host Nevada Middle School won 13 matches in a triangular with Carthage and Harrisonville to opening wrestling season on Thursday evening.

Kyle Bennett and True Beisley each recorded pins over opponents from Carthage and Harrisonville to lead the Tigers.

Raymond Sworde of Nevada won by pin against Harrisonville and earned a 6-0 decision in the match with Carthage.

Nevada's Devin Miller netted a pin against Carthage and posted a 7-2 decision in the match with a wrestler from Harrisonville.

Jonathan Klingaman and Brady Denney of Nevada each won by pin against Harrisonville while Taylor Robinson picked up a 4-1 decision against the Harrisonville Tiger.

Nevada Middle School's Zach Shepherd won by a 7-2 decision over Carthage while Colby Smith finished the night of wrestling with a dominant 15-0 technical fall over an opponent from Carthage.

Team scores were not kept during the match.
