Jearl G. Scism

Jearl G. Scisum, age 65 of Nevada, died on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born on Feb, 7, 1942, in Nevada to Ray Edward Scism and Nancy M. Biby Scism. On June 10, 1978 he was married to Betty L. Cummins in Nevada and she survives of the home.

Jearl was a lifelong resident of Nevada and went to Nevada Schools. Jearl worked in construction for a number of years out of Kansas City and was a member of the Local No. 663 Heavy & Highway Union. He has owned and operated Jearl's Nevada Radiator for the past 30 years. Jearl was a member of the First Baptist Church and BPO Elks No. 564 in Nevada.

Survivors in addition to his wife Betty, include four sons, Bob Cummins and his wife Geneva of Nevada, Sean Scism and his wife Carol of Gainesville, Fla., Jearl Brent Scism, Gainesville, Fla., and Jim Scism; granddaughter, Andria "Andy" Cummins, Gravette, Ark.; two sisters Shirley Fae Bear and husband Ralph, Shawnee, Kan., and Sandra Sue Clark and husband Frank, Dalgren, Ill.; four brothers, Dale E. Scism and wife Nancy, Nevada, Hearl L. Scism, Nevada, Ray Dean Scism and wife LuCreta, Nevada, and Larry G. Scism and wife Robin, Nevada, and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Kelly Scism and Danny Cummins, two brothers, Kenneth D. Scism and an infant brother, Gale DeWayne Scism, Two sisters, Margaret Rae Harless and Beverly Kay Swait.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the First Baptist Church, Nevada with Dr. Will Cox and Ray Dean Scism officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery. Friends may call from now until 10 a.m., today at Ferry Funeral Home and the family will received friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
