Warrant nets drug seizure, arrest

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

Vernon County Sheriff Ron Peckman reported that on Friday, Jan. 25, a joint operation between the Vernon County Sheriff's Office, the Community Narcotics Enforcement task force and Missouri State Highway Patrol resulted in the seizure of drugs and weapons from a residence near Moundville. At approximately 5 a.m., the joint operation executed an assault warrant for Robert Hudson, 33, Moundville, accused of assault in Barton County. A search of the home resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs which tested positive for methamphetamine and a sawed-off rifle. Hudson appeared in Barton County Circuit Court on Tuesday morning for an arraignment in front of Judge Charles Curless.

Information regarding the trial was not available as of press time today.

Hudson could face federal charges if the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms task force decides to take on the sawed off rifle case.
