Funeral services for Doris L. Fairbanks Ross, 74, of Nixa formerly of Branson, will be Thursday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m., in the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, in Branson. The Rev. Floyd "Bud" Arnold will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, in Branson. Mrs. Ross passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at St. John's, in Branson.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1933, in Topeka, Kan. Doris furthered her education with on the job training and became a nurses' aid at the state hospital, in Nevada. She and her husband Chester attended the Pine Street Baptist Church, in Nevada.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Fairbanks.

She is survived by her loving hushand Hal, of the home; four children, Larry Fairbanks, of Surprise, Ariz., Robert Fairbanks, of Santa Barbara, Calif., Chester Fairbanks, of Fordland, Mo., and Janice Phillips, of Tujunga Calif.; son Randy Ross, of Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers, Joe Thomas, of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; Darrel Thomas of Charleston, S.C.; eleven grandchildren and 24 great-grand children.

Memorials may be made to the Veterans Flag Fund American Legion Post No. 220, P.O. Box 858, Banson, MO, 65615.

Visitation will be Wedensday evening, Feb. 27, from 7 to 8 p.m., in the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, in Branson.
