Nevada's Campus of Crowder College took part in homecoming activities this month, joining four other campuses. Students of Crowder nominated candidates for homecoming royalty and elections were held for the campus, which resulted in the naming of Homecoming King, John Charlton, Liberal and Queen, Lorina Lukenbill, Nevada. Winning candidates participated in the formal homecoming pre-game activities on Feb. 15 and were crowned during halftime. For the third time, each of the four Crowder campuses had a King and Queen.

Candidates for Nevada Campus Queen were: Lorina Lukenbill, Nevada; Robin Mooney, El Dorado Springs; Elizabeth Burlingame, Nevada; Sarina Beerman, Nevada; and Leandra Pollard, El Dorado Springs.

Candidates for Nevada Campus King were: John Charlton, Liberal; Jason Claspill, Nevada; Klayton Leonard, Nevada; and Chad Hodge, Nevada.

Nevada Campus Director, Donna Thomas said, "Our students were excited that our campus was included in this activity. Campaigning and voting was very spirited and resulted in an enthusiastic voter turnout. Students were allowed to vote for one king and one queen candidate. Before appearing on the ballot, each candidate had to agree to be present at the homecoming activities at main campus in Neosho, and be in traditional formal attire. Overall, it was a great experience and we appreciate all of the students who either ran for the honor or participated in the voting."
