Lavena Fast

Lavena Fast, age 91, of Lamar, passed away at 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, March 05, 2008, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada.

Lavena was born Nov. 7, 1916, in Gross, Kan., to William H. and Susan (Richey) Burke. She graduated from Mulberry High School in Mulberry, Kan. On Dec. 13, 1942, at Lamar, Lavena married Frank Fast and they had celebrated 50 years together before his passing on June 18, 1993. Lavena was a wonderful baby sitter who will be remembered with love by the many children she cared for throughout the years. She had also worked as a cook in the Lamar schools.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Delton and Debbie Fast, and Ricky and Allison Fast, all of Nevada; a daughter and son-in-law, Jolene and the Rev. John Dille, Lamar; a twin sister, Lorena Palmer, Lamar; five grandchildren, Allison Cheaney, Jeremy, Eric, Derek, and Makenzie Fast; five great-grandchildren, Emma, Noah, Eli and Jack Cheaney and Stella Fast; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 8, at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m., until service time. Burial will be in Lake Cemetery.
