Missouri Sheep Producers scholarships offered

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Supporting the future of the Missouri sheep industry is a key strategy for the Missouri Sheep Producers organization. Offering four $750 scholarships to current and former 4-H and FFA members involved in the sheep industry is one way to accomplish this.

College students and high school seniors who are Missouri residents or out-of-state students attending a Missouri school are eligible for these scholarships.

Recipients must be former or current 4-H or FFA members actively involved in a sheep project for at least three years.

Sarah Gehring, the scholarship committee chair, said "the applicants are selected based on their sheep industry involvement, character, academic achievements, educational goals and financial need."

Applications can be downloaded from the MSP Web site at http://www.missouri-sheep.org/youthprograms.htm.

May 15 is the application deadline and the awards will be presented at the Missouri State Fair.
