Hume baseball made short work of Montrose Monday evening in an 18-0, five-inning run rule victory.

Junior Ryan Austin recorded his second no-hitter of the season, allowing three walks with 13 strikeouts. Austin has allowed only four earned runs in 30 innings this season with 61 strikeouts. He was a unanimous selection as the No. 1 pitcher for the all-district team of Class 1, District 13.

Tuesday was more of the same for the Hornets as they dismantled Sheldon 28-0 in five innings. It was another no-hitter, this time from senior Zach Guenther.

Guenther also led the way at the plate with 6 RBI and five runs.Junior Eric Pruitt hit a home run in the first inning and Ryan Austin went 4-for-6 with 3 RBI and three runs.

It comes as no surprise three Hume players received post-season honors Monday.

Sophomore Zach Austin and junior Cody Franklin joined Ryan Austin on the all-district team, which is comprised of four pitchers and eight fielders. Hume moved to 7-2 on the year with the wins.
