Katie Mae Kochenower and Nicholas Allen Wheeler, Newton, Kan., along with their parents, Dan and Vickie Kochenower, Newton, and Brent and Polly Wheeler, Prescott, Kan., announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

Katie attends Wichita State University, pursuing a career in nursing.

Nick attended Hutchinson Community College for training in the fire science program, and is currently working toward certification in Emergency Medical Treatment.

The couple plan to be married on June 14, 2008, in an outdoor wedding at the Dyck Arboretum in Hesston, Kan., with a reception and dance following at Camp Hawk, in Newton.

A local reception will be hosted by the groom's family at the Prescott Community Center (former grade school building) at 7 p.m., on June 28, 2008. The celebration is open to all family and friends.
