Jerry A. Knapp, 53, of Nevada, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kansas City, Mo., after a lengthy illness. Jerry was born on Nov. 24, 1954, in St. Joseph, to L. Joseph and Ann Knapp. He married at an early age in St. Joseph and had a son Jeromy Levi Knapp, who resides in Concord, Calif.
Jerry moved to Nevada in 1976, where he met and married the love of his life Linda (Keating) Knapp; they were married on June 8, 1977. Jerry worked most of his life as a truck driver and traveled the United States. He loved his family very much and always filled their home with music and laughter.
Jerry and Linda have three children, Casey May, Leah Marie and Eli Christians. Jerry also has and loved four grandchildren; Trey, Riley, Jordan and Jaycee. Other survivors include his wife; one brother, David Knapp, of Jefferson City; two sisters Patsy Baill and Leslie Johnson, both of Texarkana, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews, along with many dear friends.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 21, at 1 p.m., at Community of Christ Church, Allison and Elm, in Nevada.
