Police arrest Nevada man in shooting

A Nevada man is in custody following a weekend incident at 701 West Garfield. Nevada police responded to a report of gunshots from the area of apartment C-3.

Officers contacted the victim who reported he had been in a verbal dispute with Patrick O'Malley, who left and returned brandishing a handgun which he pointed at the victim from outside the victim's apartment window. O'Malley fired at the victim then fled the area.

Officers located O'Malley and took him into custody. O'Malley is in the Vernon County Jail on charges of assault and unlawful use of a weapon in lieu of $7,500 bond.
