Senior league remains popular at Frank E. Peters course

The Two Man Scramble Golf Tournament was held at Frank E. Peters Golf Course, Thursday, June 12.

The tournament consisted of the Senior Flight, open to participants age 50-64, which was divided into three groups, and the Super Senior Flight for participants age 65 and up, which was divided into two groups.

The Senior A Flight winners were Marvin Klotz, Nevada, and Dan Hodson, Bauxite, Ark., with a final score of 68. They finished in a tie with Gene Smith, Webb City, and Steve Watts, Carthage. Rounding out the top three was the team of Shirold Moore and Manny Roldan, Nevada, with a score of 70

The B Flight was won by Rich Doubet, Carthage, and Tom Jones, Ozark, Mo., with a score of 74. They were closely followed by the teams of Gary Norcross and Tom Hirshman, and Ray Crawford and Harold Kenney, all of Nevada, tied at 75. The C Flight concluded in a three way tie between the teams of Dale Schilling and Don Gulick, For Scott, Kan., Marvin Hammontree, Kansas City, Mo., and Keith Hammontree, Nevada, and Paul and Jim Myers, Pleasanton, Kan. All teams finished with a score of 77.

The Super Senior A Flight was won by the team of Larry Stoneking, Osceola, Mo, and Rod Hanson, Pittsburg, Mo., with a final score of 66. they were followed in second by the team of Ron Cogdill and LArry Esslinger, Excelsior Springs, Mo., with a score of 67 and the team of Larry Sanderson, Nevada, and Bob Wilson, Mulberry, Kan., scoring 69.

The B Flight finished in a three way tie between the teams of Jack Arnold and David Maupin, Lorel Watts and Rich Johnson, and J.P. Marroquin and Dick Staihr, all of Nevada, with a final score of 74.
