A long-standing tradition at the Vernon County Youth Fair is the pet show, one of the final events. This year, the pet show was held early Saturday afternoon, with some of the fair's youngest exhibitors taking part. The show is open to children ages 5 to 7.

Young exhibitors shared information about a wide variety of animals and displayed pets for the judge.

Other Saturday events included the Tri-County Livestock Judging Contest, a special animals/special kids program, an annual barbecue and appreciation dinner, and a livestock sale in the show pavilion. Rain that fell steadily during the early evening had all but quit by auction time and didn't appear to dampen the enthusiasm for bidding.
