Jeremy Fast, chamber of commerce president, announced Friday that long-time chamber of commerce executive director Kathi Wysong had presented her resignation, effective July 30, to the chamber of commerce board of directors on Wednesday, during their monthly meeting.
Fast said that he plans to meet with Wysong, as well as Seth Barrett, chamber vice president, and Pat Arnold, treasurer, next week to discuss what direction the chamber should to go in the future and how to proceed.
He said that while they are accepting applications for the position, they were not going to be in a hurry to fill the position.
"We want to find someone capable of doing the job," Fast said.
In the mean time, he said that Glenda Crowder and Cindy Johnson, along with the volunteers in the office, will be able to handle the day-to-day operations of the office.
Wysong, who has been director for about 11 years, was an active participant in many community activities during her tenure.
"It will be hard to fill those shoes," Fast said.
