Nevada Fire Chief Bob Benn said that firefighters arriving on the scene quickly identified the source of the smoke visible from outside, spotting the flames reaching for the cabinets from the stove. The resident, who was not home at the time, had apparently left something on the stove.
"They got it knocked down fast and contained the damage to just that area. The damage is minimal," Benn said.
Neighbors from across the called the fire department after seeing smoke coming from the structure.
