Robert Lee Spillman, 63, of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008. He was born on Jan. 9, 1945, in Kansas City, Mo. the son of Lloyd Lee and Iva Lorene Spillman. He was united in marriage to Rose Mary Kleen on Oct. 17, 1964 in Metz, Mo.

In addition to his wife Rose Mary, survivors include his parents of Camdenton, Mo.; daughter, Christina Catlett and husband Brian, of St. Louis, Mo.; his chosen brother and sister in laws, Greg and Brenda Ballard, of Sturgeon, Mo., Margie and Russell Leaton and Richard Phelps, all of Lake of the Ozarks; brother-in-law, Wendell Kleen; niece, Teresa Schroeder; nephew, Doug Kleen; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mr. Spillman graduated from Metz High School in 1962. He retired in 2004 from CenturyTel after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Twilight Lodge 114 of Columbia and the IBEW. He loved spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks, hunting, cooking and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m., at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia. Visitation will be held on Saturday, from noon until service time at the funeral home.
