Lady Tiger tennis struggles at districts

The Nevada Lady Tigers tennis team competed in the district tournament in Kansas City Thursday.

The Lady Tigers finished eighth of the 12 teams in the tournament and had a bit of a tough outing. "What a tough district," head coach Samantha Short said. "Even Bolivar, who by the way has won out own districts several years in a row, did not fare well."

Whitley Del Rosario and Katlyn Short were both able to advance to the second round, each taking individual wins in their first matches of the day. Cheyenne Whitson and Ashley McKinley repeated the same performance in doubles play as they won in the first round and were eliminated in the second.

The team of Leah Creasy and Daven Smith were eliminated in the first round of doubles play and Notre Dame De Sion was the big winner of the day.
