Tuesday, October 14, 2008

The Board of Directors Directors of Nevada Baseball, Inc., d.b.a. Nevada Griffons is proud to annouce the team's official acceptance into the MINK League.

The MINK League is comprised of teams from Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas and the league started in 1910 with a six team charter. Over they years, the MINK League has grown to consist of 10 teams in a North and South Division.

The members of the 2009 MINK League South Division are the Nevada Griffons, Joplin Outlaws, Sedalia Sluggers, Mac-N-Seitz Athletics and Ozark Generals. The North Division will include the Clarinda A's, Beatrice Bruins, St. Joseph Mustangs, Chillicothe Mudcats and Topeka Golden Giants.

The Nevada Griffons cite economic factors relating to fuel prices as the reason for the league change. The proximity of the league teams will allow the Nevada Griffons to continue to carry out the goal of providing quality summer collegiate baseball in Nevada.
