Lady Tigers softball players receive All-District honors

The Nevada Lady Tigers softball team recently had five players selected to represent them on this year's All-District selection list.

Junior Rachel Kennedy and senior Sabrina Jones were both selected to the All-District second team. Kennedy finished the season with 106 strikeouts from the pitching circle and Jones turned in a .979 fielding percentage from her spot at first base.

Senior Jessica Davis, junior Andi Alexander and freshman Tiffany Long were all given honorable Mention All-District honors. As an outfielder, Davis had no errors in the 21 games she played this year and Alexander sported a .315 batting average while Long recorded a .340 on-base percentage.

The Lady Tigers are scheduled to have their players' banquet in the commons at Nevada High School on Oct. 28 at 6 p.m., to honor all of the accomplishments of the team this season.
